A human on the other end
Let’s get you unstuck.
Installation help, practical troubleshooting, and a direct email when you need a hand.
Contact support
Email jd@wildwooddm.com. Include the app version, Windows version, file format, what you were doing, what you expected, and the exact error text. No account or contact form is required.
Please do not attach private photographs, API keys, or unredacted logs. Local reports can contain private filenames and recorded times. We can discuss a minimal, non-sensitive example if needed.
Email supportInstalling or opening the app
Use Windows 10 version 2004 (build 19041) or later, or Windows 11, on an x64 PC. Download the official signed installer from the download section. Review the publisher in Windows before installation. The .NET runtime is included.
For portable use, extract the complete ZIP and keep the Tools folder with the executable. Launch from a regular folder, not from the ZIP. Close another running copy before launching an updated build: the app uses one instance per Windows user.
Photos or previews are missing
Open folder includes subfolders and replaces the workspace; Add images adds files. Make sure cloud files are fully available locally and that you can read the source folder. Videos and separate XMP sidecars are excluded. Some RAW formats have no usable embedded preview or supported Windows codec, even when metadata can be read.
Missing previews do not mean metadata is missing. Try the exact preview on copies to establish which fields your files support.
A camera correction looks wrong
Confirm the reference camera and every camera/folder assignment. AI suggestions can be misleading; review the shown moments and use manual earlier/later controls. Each camera receives a constant offset. Sync does not automatically model drift or resolve time zones.
Applying an edit needs more space
Exact previews stage complete copies. Allow approximately one additional full copy of selected photos, and more for retained versions from repeated batches. Verify the destination is writable and not only an online placeholder. Do not delete hidden staging or backup folders during an operation.
Restoring metadata or recovering an interruption
Use History & restore to preview restoration of a completed metadata batch. Restore newer batches affecting the same photos first. Original bytes are retained in each photo folder’s hidden .ExifExpert/backups directory. Keep those files and the app’s local history while you need recovery.
If photos were moved or renamed, restore their expected paths before retrying restoration. If applying was interrupted, use Recover interrupted edit and review the result. Avoid further edits in another app until recovery is resolved. Independent backups remain important.
Undo last rename is separate from metadata restore and covers only the latest completed rename batch. It verifies file contents and refuses changed files.
Optional AI connection fails
Check internet access, your OpenRouter key, and available account credits. The app restricts comparisons to the selected Liquid endpoint with requested zero retention, no collection/training, and no provider fallback. If that route is unavailable, analysis stops. Core offline tools remain available.
Never send your key to support. Use the app’s AI connection controls to remove or reconnect it.
